From family-friendly glides to record-breaking rides, here’s a guide to the best alpine slides and zip lines across the state — and how far they are from Sundance Resort.

1. Park City Mountain Alpine Slide - Distance from Sundance: ~50 minutes (35 miles)

Located at Park City Mountain Resort, this is one of the longest alpine slides in the U.S. Riders descend over 3,000 feet of curving track through lush meadows and mountain vistas. Open during summer and early fall, this classic attraction offers multiple lanes and speed control, making it perfect for all ages.


2. Park City Mountain ZipRider Zip Line - Distance from Sundance: ~50 minutes (35 miles) Right next to the alpine slide, this thrilling zip line launches riders from the top of the Payday Lift down 110 feet at speeds up to 45 mph. It’s a great add-on after a scenic chairlift ride and popular among teens and adults.


3. Utah Olympic Park Zip Lines & Ropes Course (Park City) - Distance from Sundance: ~1 hour (40 miles)

Built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, this site offers multiple zip line options including the Extreme Zip, which mimics the steepness of a ski jump. There’s also a freestyle zip tour, ropes courses, and a drop tower. It’s ideal for thrill-seekers and families alike.


4. Sundance ZipTour at Sundance Mountain Resort:

No need to leave the Sundance Area for one of the most exciting zip line experiences in the West. The Sundance ZipTour features over 3,870 feet of zip line cable and a 2,100-foot vertical drop — one of the steepest in North America. The tour includes scenic chairlift rides and dual zip lines, allowing you to soar side-by-side with a friend while enjoying stunning views of Mount Timpanogos.


5. Snowbird Mountain Coaster & Zip Line - Distance from Sundance: ~1 hour and 15 minutes (50 miles)

Snowbird offers a mountain coaster and a zip line as part of their summer activity lineup. The zip line stretches 1,000 feet with top speeds of 30+ mph. The coaster zips through the trees in a twisting alpine route that riders can control.


6. Deer Valley (Lift-Only for Slides) - Distance from Sundance: ~55 minutes (35 miles)

While Deer Valley doesn't currently offer alpine slides or zip lines, its scenic chairlifts make it a great jumping-off point to nearby activities in Park City.


7. Zipline Utah at Deer Creek State Park - Distance from Sundance: ~30 minutes (20 miles) One of the most extreme and scenic zip line parks in the country, Zipline Utah features a zip course over water and canyons at Deer Creek Reservoir. The Screaming Falcon Zip Line is over 3,900 feet long and reaches speeds up to 60 mph. Located just outside Heber, it's the closest major zip line to Sundance not located on the resort.
